Hillsboro KS Arts & Craft Fair

September 17-18, 2010

Go West Young Man, Go West!! We are off to the Hillsboro Arts & Crafts Fair. A long-standing trademark of the Hillsboro fair, and one of the main reasons it has attracted such a loyal following, is its quality. Most fairs will accept any and all applicants, but Hillsboro limits theirs to about 400 vendors. The screening committee distributes more than 1,000 applications in March. The Hillsboro Arts & Crafts Fair is a mecca for the discerning arts and crafts shopper. If you're looking for something new and

different, or an old favorite, come to Hillsboro, you'll find it all. There's also something for every appetite, everything from Hillsboro's famous smoked sausage, zwieback and bierocks to kettle corn, roasted almonds, fresh squeezed lemonade and funnel cakes. If you have a hankering for good home-cooked German food, this is the place for you. This fair is rated among the top 100 arts and crafts shows in the country in several categories and combined with local food and hometown hospitality add flavor to this already spectacular event you won’t want to miss! Stop by Lindsborg to experience a special blend of history and culture. Old world charm springs from rich Swedish heritage. Unique shops and restaurants, museums, art galleries and working studios, cultural and ethnic events, great places to stay, and lots of friendly people await you in Lindsborg. Lindsborg is unique – a special blend of history and culture set in the middle of Kansas wheat country. Our afternoon in Lindsborg is free to try one of their many Swedish restaurants. There is so much to see – a demonstration of how their famous wooden Dala Horses are made at the Hemslojd, a downtown Swedish gift shop. If time permits we will take a trip to the Smoky Hill Bison Co and visit the unique Red Barn Studio. Dinner in Lindsborg is included at the Swedish Crown Restaurant. Complete your Lindsborg visit by enjoying the Swedish Dancers perform at the Swedish Pavilion or one of their fine musical groups. En route to Lindsborg we’ll stop at the Alma Creamery, home of famous hand made cheese and Wyldewood Cellars in Paxico to sample some of their famous wines.
