China - "The Scenic Landscape"

Your exotic journey to China begins as you board your Trans Pacific Flight bound for Beijing. Visit Tiananmen Square and the Imperial Palace in the Forbidden City, home of Chinese emperors for more than 500 years.  Enjoy a fabulous welcome banquet featuring the famous Beijing Duck. Travel to the Great Wall of China where you can enjoy the dramatic vistas. In route back to the city, drive around the intriguing architecture of the main Olympic venues: the “Bird’s Nest” and the “Water Cube”. Tour the idyllic Summer Palace, with its sprawling landscape of temples, gardens, and the 728-yard Long Corridor. Enjoy a pedicab tour of the Hutong, the old-city and get acquainted with the local residents on a family visit.  Fly to Yichang where you’ll board the 5-star Oriental Cruises, East King ship to begin your memorable journey on the Yangtze River. Visit the Three Gorges Dam Site, the largest hydroelectric project in the world. Sail to Shibaozhai, famous for its 12-story wooden pagoda built against a sheer cliff on the river bank over some 400 years ago. Your cruise arrives in the mountainous city of Chonqing where you disembark and transfer to the airport for your flight to Xi’an. Visit the Ancient City Wall, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Bell Tower. Sure to be a highlight is a visit to the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum, home to an army of more than 6,000 life-size statues excavated from the tomb of the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty. Enjoy a special dinner show at the Tang Dynasty Theatre recreating the music, costumes and dances of that era. Fly to Hangzhou, where you will visit West Lake and boat on the beautiful lake. Attend a grand musical show “Impression West Lake”, performed on one of the most incredible outdoor stage settings in the world. Visit Lingying Temple, and Six Harmonies Pagoda before departing for Hangzhou, home of Yellow Mountain.  Stroll along the Ancient Streets of Tunxi, a well preserved commercial street dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. Visit the ancient village of Hongchun. Then board the cable car for the summit of Mount Huangshan (Yellow Mountain). Known for its spectacular rocky peaks, oddly shaped pines, and seas of cloud, Huangshang’s landscape is one of the most scenic in China. As a finale to this grand tour fly to Shanghai and explore the famous Bund, and visit historic Yu Gardens, and shop for bargains in the bustling Chinatown market.
